What cookies are and which we use
Cookies are small text files placed on your device so a website can remember your choices and function correctly. On vanburgh.ch we use only what is necessary to run the site: a cookie that records your consent decision, a session cookie for technical stability, an anonymised statistics cookie set once you allow it, and a cookie storing your preferred interface language.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookieconsent_status | Stores whether you allowed or declined cookies | Necessary | 12 months |
| PHPSESSID | Maintains the technical session while you browse | Necessary | Until browser closes |
| _ga | Anonymised visit statistics, set only after consent | Statistics | 24 months |
| vb_lang | Remembers the interface language you selected | Preference | 6 months |
Managing cookies
Non-essential cookies are set only if you press "Allow" in the banner. You can change your mind at any time by clearing site data in your browser and reloading the page, and every major browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy settings; note that blocking necessary cookies may impair parts of the site.
Third-party services
The site loads Bootstrap and the cookie-consent library from the jsDelivr CDN, web fonts from Google Fonts, and an embedded Google Maps frame on the contact section; these providers may receive your IP address in order to deliver their content. Their processing is governed by their own privacy notices, and questions about ours can be sent to office@vanburgh.ch.
